Discover the unexpected in fashion where rising Canadian designers will showcase their Art of Fashion exclusive collections as part of the Annual Design Competition.
Only 10 of Canada's top rising designers will be selected for a chance to participate in this career-boosting challenge.
Designers will vie for the title of Most Promising Designer and Best Exhibit by creating a collection of garments based off
their interpretation of this year's theme - "Iconic Power". A panel of industry judges, along with the general public, will select and award
two designers with a monetary grant to help launch their business.
2009 - "Iconic Power"
"Clothing has always had the power to take a person from ordinary to extraordinary.
It can create a character, a persona, an icon. It is the visual embodiment of one's values and ideals.
In the Art of Fashion: Iconic Power exhibit, we will explore the fantastical world of superheroes within
the realm of ready-to-wear fashion. This 'superfashion' collection will challenge the conventional,
empower the wearer, and transform the human silhouette."

Participating designers will have an opportunity to meet with local media, sell their one of a kind exclusive design and network with industry guests.
