Debbie Cham is the founder and creative director of Lux & Luster.
Her aspirations to become an artist and her love of design laid the foundation for her creativity and inspiration. After graduating from Ryerson Polytechnic University, Debbie moved to London, England. With artistic ambition, positive energy and the will to learn more of the mechanisms of the fashion industry, Debbie sewed samples for local design houses and worked in the press office at Vivienne Westwood’s.
Upon her return to Canada, Debbie decided to start making her own clothes. This allowed her the creative freedom to execute her vision to the fullest potential by bringing out women’s femininity, sexuality and sense of humor. Her cloth displayed strong flair and innovation and won the attention of a small but fiercely loyal clientele. With her vision to create stylish sophisticated cloth, Debbie introduced her fresh, contemporary collection under the label Lux and Luster.
Lux & Luster has been described as 'cosmopolitan and practical elegance'. Clothing with crisp silhouettes and attention to detail are combined with unique combinations of fabric and innovative new styling to create progressive and visionary designs.
As a completely independent fashion design company in Canada, Lux & Luster has distinguished itself at several levels. Products consist of contemporary designer fashions for women who have an eye for the unique. The collections are designed and manufactured in Toronto, Canada with seasonal collections averaging 40-60 pieces. Lux & Luster’s products are available in boutiques across Canada.
